Scripture Point Thursday | Balance

image

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. proverbs 3:6

Riding bikes can be so fun. Most people go from being merely onlookers to riding with training wheels, before finally learning the art of balance to ride with just two wheels. Most didnt learn to ride by themselves. It usually consisted of someone holding on to the back of the seat until your courage had been built up enough to set you free. Get a mental picture of yourself as an inexperienced rider focused straight ahead with hands holding tightly to the handle bars. The teacher coaching from behind. Reassuring you of all the possibilities that awaits you. He reassures you that he will hold onto you till you’re comfortable. You hesitantly take your feet from the ground to resting them on the peddles. Trees are ahead – sidewalk looks hard and unwelcoming. You begin to peddle – wobbly at first, but you feel the presence of your teacher. You trust him. You begin to feel the wind beating upon  your face – such an exhilarating feeling forming inside you – you are enjoying the mobility and the freedom with all the possibility.

Something begins to change – your teacher is holding less of your seat. You’re still a tad bit wobbly but it’s getting a little easier. You’re riding and your teacher tells you that he is going to let you loose a little but that he wouldn’t be too far behind. That knot catches your throat and you wonder if you will remain upright. You begin to peddle a little faster – you noticed you are peddling by yourself. The thought of that catches you of guard and you woble yourself right into the bushes. Ouch! Your teacher manages to help you back on the bike while you determine that maybe that bike riding isn’t for you. The teacher gets hint of this and tells you that even when you’re wobbly the key to gaining experience is to get back on. Before long you are riding alone – no longer needing someone to hold on your seat. You learn that learning to ride a bike consist of finding your balance.

Once you learn to balance yourself you can go anywhere. You can ride fast or slow. Up hills or down. You may even learn the art of taking your hands of the bars while keeping the bike steady and moving straight. You find that riding is fun, adventurous and freeing.

We can put our trust in God – he is always right there with us. He holds onto us when we are wobbly. He reminds us of how much we are capable of – and that in all aspects of our life we have to find balance by following him. Even Jesus rested. When Jesus needed answers  – he turned to the one that sent him – he did not lean unto his own wisdom and understanding. It is within our quiet time – when we rid ourselves of noise and our attention is on him – we can hear him more clearly. Our directions are precise – and he keeps us fine tuned for our destinations. We must yield and serve God with all of our heart – soul and mind. He becomes our mind regulator for our entire day when we give him our first thought in the morning. When God is the center of our life – everything about us shifts center toward him.  Acknowledging that he holds our future in the palm of his hands equips us with a confidence and boldness to get on our bike of life and ride.

Hold fast to your balance that is within Christ Jesus – your path shall be straight.

Scripture Point | Least of these

image

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me. Matthew 25:35-36

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.

Isn’t it fascinating that we are called to love and care for one another. He gave us dominion not to just frolic and have a good time,  but to insure we are doing his perfect will.  Living in different areas I have come across many people who were down on their luck and even wandering the streets and no place to call home and very little food to eat. I have also been around others who felt such persons were trying to get a buck for a cigar or alcohol binge and feeling like helping was a weak thing to do. Whatever anybody think – we  must ask what would Jesus do?

I imagine him stopping to converse with them, encouraging them – feeding them like he fed the five thousand. And while they are eating themselves full he would tell them about the one and only true living water that will quench every thirst. Could you imagine their eyes lightening up – their hearts filling up with joy that someone took notice without judging. They would leave physically and spiritually fed.

My challenge in a time where challenges run rampant – let’s treat people like Christ did. Offer the homeless food instead of passing them by. Donate gently used clothing to a shelter. Spend some time at a nursing home. Let’s open our eyes to those in need, let’s look for opportunities where the love of Christ can be shown. Create magic moments that can change the course of someone’s life today. Big or small we all matter –  remember what we do our don’t do is done to God.

Scripture Point Tuesday | Faithfulness

image

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:21

Everyday we have a responsibility to do what we are called to do. To be faithful over what we have in our hands. Not to merely have the same amount we began with when we started – but to increase what God has entrusted us with. No need to look at what your neighbor has been entrusted with, because God has given you more than enough for your assignment.

Do we hold it and keep it to ourselves? Do we honor what we have been given and double or triple it? The Scripture reminds us that if we are faithful over little he will entrust us with more. We have to show God that we have a high regard and appreciation for every thing we have at our disposal.

We often ask God for more when we wants to see how faithful we are over our little. In order to have more money –  one must learn responsibility over giving God our first through tithing – giving and helping others and saving. Giving increases – keeping decrease. God calls us to be givers and to do so with a joyful heart.

So what do you have in your hand? To get increase, use what you have to help the world. This doesn’t have to mean money only –  could someone benefit from giving of your time? Challenge yourself to never take for granted your blessing. Be thankful for all things. Your spouse needs your faithfulness – show love even when you don’t feel like it. Your children – or even your job. What can you do to show your faithfulness. Getting to work on time and giving it your all.

Excellence is driven by our faithfulness. To be excellent with our families,  our business and even our friendships we have learn this principle of faithfulness. God is always faithful – he is the greatest example on how we should live our lives. He is faithful to his promises – his love and grace. He takes care of us with such excellence – how marvelous are the works of his hands.

We can become more faithful by being faithful over our little. When we grasp that – our little forms into much.

Scripture Point Tuesday | Existence

image

As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed–the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.  Romans 4:17

How powerful it is to not only know the world of God, but to learn the power of application that can transform a life. It is not the same as just speaking positive,  but it is affirming the promises of God over your life. It applies truth to your life that is greater than anything else.  It’s speaking the life into every area of your life – thus activating the FAITH – to manifest that what you’re believing for.

It begins with altering automatic responses of the mind to make it obey his word. Sow the good you want to see that you may reap from it.

“like a freshly plowed field – your mind grows whatever seeds of thought you plant”

You are in charge of what you think and what you say. Agree with God everyday. Speak health, success, life into your life and you will begin to see its manifestations.

Scripture Point | By Grace

image

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

For this one thing is true that by grace we are saved and by grace we live. We can’t be good enough for it – earn – it just is. It is the free unmerited favor of God upon our lives. It’s sufficient – it’s. everlasting. He wipes the slate clean – providing new beginnings. He forgets the track record. He brings his child into his presence with open arms – like a father welcoming back a child that has been gone too long.

Today how can you show grace?

Scripture Point Wednesday | All Your Heart

image

The Lord our God, the Lord is one. love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorpost’s of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-8

There is but one God – the God of all creation. We are to love him with every part of our being- ingrained in our hearts. Spreading the love – keeping it at the front of our minds. Teaching our children about such love and greatness. His love for us is at all times – in all ways – never ceasing. It is unrelenting and unshakable. Let that love resonate within you today – allowing it to break through to any place that needs a touch from God. Walk in it – talk it – live it today.

Scripture Point Friday | Magnify

image

I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.  Psalm 34:1-3

Have you heard what you magnify increases in your life? Certainly we are reminded in this Scripture to magnify God and his goodness – to give him praises at all times.  Sometimes the all times can feel like a bit of a tall order. The truth of the matter is that when you magnify (enlarge) his presence in your life – you also enlarge his power into your life. When you cause him to increase in you – something is forced to decrease. What do you need to decrease in your life today?

Shift your focus – put him first at all times and he will show up in your life in more ways than you ever imagined.  Decrease me Lord – that you may increase in me!

Scripture Point Thursday | Early Rise

image

O God, you are my God; early will I seek you; My soul thirsts for you; My flesh longs for you. In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.  So I have looked for you in the sanctuary,  To see your power and your glory. Psalm 63:1-2

When you wake in the morning you may feel thirsty or a bit hungry – rightly so you have practically fasted all night. It is said to be very important to have a glass of water as a means to give the body a boost. Morning is the best time to get some alone time with God – seeking him for your day. To energize your battery while the day is new.  It is the best opportunity to seek guidance and clarity for the Daily activities ahead.

I don’t know about you – but more of him is what I need. He is your heavenly father who rejoices in his time with you.  He has so much he wants to share with you. Bask in his loving-kindness. He wants to equip you – cover and protect you. Your soul hungers to praise him for another day with fullness of limitless possibilities. Seek him early, noon and night – be filled.

Scripture Point Wednesday | The God That Heals

image

Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. Jeremiah 17:14

Then there is GOD – He says call my name and it shall be done as you have believed. Healing for your body – finances – relationship – your mind and all things concerning you.

He says that his ways our higher than our ways – his thoughts deeper than our thoughts. Do you believe that his greatest desire for you is too be healed and whole? In every part of your life and every part of your body. Put every care on God today – he is a perfecting God. He has not and will never fail you. Scripture Point | He Saves

image

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

The love God has for you is certainly Immeasurable. He put an end to sin to all who would believe In him. He provided a way for us to live and not be bound in sin. He introduced freedom – for one to be reborn and renewed. To be established in his love and grace. To infuse your life with a joy that can only be given by him. He paid your debt – you can rest knowing once you confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart that he is Lord you became a new creature – filled with his spirit.

Yes you still have free will – but the grace of God wants to lead you in all decisions – that you may live according to his will and his promise for your life. God did not send his son Jesus to condemn you, but to set you free. To pour out his love, his joy, his peace and eternal life to his beloved child.
